We had a fun week visiting our youngest daughter Heather, her husband Tom, and their son, eight-month-old Liam Thomas in Raleigh, NC.  We have six grandchildren now.  Eileen, Heather, and Liam were able to have fun shopping a couple of times.  Along with enjoying Liam so much, Ben and Eileen were able to do some indexing of records online each day for FamilySearch.com.

Ben loves to read, both real books and digital books on his iPhone.  He reads numerous books simultaneously.  While at Heather’s he was able to finish “Tom Swift and His Aerial Warship” by Victor Appleton, “Key Out of Time” by Andre Norton, “The Fur Country” by Jules Verne, and “The Return of the Native” by Thomas Hardy.  The latter two took over seven months.  The real book he is working on is “Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell” by Susanna Clark.  He is also re-reading the Mitford novel, “A New Song,” by Jan Karon to Eileen.

Eileen and Ben were able to drive down to Fayetteville and have lunch with Michael and Linda Flynn who were visiting their daughter.  They live in Utah.  We met them on our LDS mission to the British floor of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City in 2010-2011.  They have served three full-time LDS missions, California and Australia prior to our meeting them and Scotland, Ireland, and England after we finished our mission.  While we were on our mission, they were serving part-time as Church Service missionaries on the British floor and they have returned there since getting back from the U.K. and Ireland.

Ben was able to go to the Raleigh LDS Temple in nearby Apex and do some temple ordinance work there while a youth group did some baptisms and confirmations for him.    What a surprise when he met Dan Harbertson, a temple ordinance worker, whom he and Eileen knew for many years when they all lived in Maryland!
