After Colonial Williamsburg we drove to the Jamestown Settlement on Thursday 10 October.  There were a very impressive museum and galleries.  We also enjoyed the Indian village, James Fort, and the three ships, Susan Constant, Discovery, and Godspeed.  I enjoyed going on board the Constant.

We took the ferry back across the river and headed for the Yorktown Victory Center, but it was late so we decided to visit the next morning after we checked out of the resort.  We returned to Williamsburg and enjoyed supper at Carrabba's Italian Grill.  Very good!

We checked out of Colonial Crossings of Williamsburg resort and enjoyed the Yorktown Victory Center on Friday 11 October.

We headed for Raleigh and stopped at Cracker Barrel in Emporia, Virginia, for lunch.  All four of us checked in about 5:45 pm to the same Comfort Inn where the White's stayed on 3 Oct.

We opted to stay a second night at the Comfort Inn.  We checked the White's out after we had breakfast together and went by the Raleigh Temple for them to see it.  Allen walked over to the stake center to check out the Family History Center.  Then we took them to the airport.  We returned to the Dowd's by 1:30 pm.  Our grandson Liam was delightful as usual!

We had breakfast and checked out of the Comfort Inn in time for the Cary 2nd Ward sacrament meeting at 9 am on Sunday 13 October.  Then we were on our way to Ellijay.  We got home about 4:45 pm.  All was well there.  We got a cute note from Denise London who visited while we were away!  She had called us from Ellijay while we were in Williamsburg!  Her note stated, "We were here and you were not, now you are here and we are not."  Denise served with us in the Family History Library on our mission.  It was such a wonderful vacation!  We visited the White’s in San Francisco in August 2012, then they visited us in October 2012, April 2013, and now this time.  We have great times together!
