This blog entry is without pictures which I will add later.
Opening hymn was #300 "Families Can Be Together Forever" text by Ruth M. Gardner (1927-1999) and music by Vanya Y. Watkins (b. 1938).
Sacrament hymn was #195 "How Great the Wisdom and the Love" text by Eliza R. Snow (1804-1887) and music by Thomas McIntyre (1833-1914). Verses 1, 2, 5, and 6 are especially appropriate for the sacrament but everyone ignores that and just sings the first four verses.
The two sister missionaries and two elders introduced themselves and bore their testimonies.
The youth speaker was Sister Mallory Kilgore. She spoke on choosing the right and quoted Elder Robert D. Hales of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Mosiah 2:22.
The second speaker was Sister Patti Amacher. The Amacher's are the temple president and matron.
We got a text from Tom that he was taking Heather back to the Duke University hospital so we left church immediately and returned to the Dowd's.
We spent the rest of the day with Liam. I did some work on my laptop researching relatives of the Turton's who married into the Darrell line.
Tom stayed overnight at the hospital with Heather. The doctors believe that she has some type of meningitis.
On Monday 16 November we were up early with Liam. Eileen reached a new low with her weight and I was under 180 again (barely)!
The contractors arrived at 8 am to continue with the renovation upstairs.
I finished the 13 September issue of the Church News. I enjoyed the articles about 'Finding joy in the gospel' with President Russell M. Nelson, 'Church in Mexico growing' with Elder D. Todd Christofferson, "Church classic, 'Jesus the Christ,' published 100 years ago," the center section "Hundreds serving in Family and Church History Headquarters Mission," a new stake in the Philippines, and "Work of Relief Society goes 'hand-in-glove' with Church focuses."
I went to Walmart, Chick-Fil-A, and Harris Teeter for food for supper.
Eileen did the H's, I's, and one J in Devon while I was gone during Liam's nap.
I wrapped up placing the Turton and Jobes families into Family Tree as well as merging many duplicates. The majority of them had already had their temple work done in the Guayaquil Ecuador Temple about 10-11 years ago.
On Tuesday 17 November we were up bright and early with Liam. Tom returned from the hospital and took Liam to school. We drove to Durham to visit Heather, stopping at Harris Teeter first.
After returning home I finished putting pictures in my 17 May blog entry and published it again.
After supper Heather FaceTimed with us so she could say "hi" to Liam but it was hard for him as he misses her.
Langstone in Hampshire doesn't have a page developed yet and Lymington has no infobox, so I did 15 of the 17 L's in Hampshire.
We watched “Cars 2” with Liam.
Tom came home about 8 pm so he isn't staying overnight at the hospital.
I researched some Trembath's and Newton's in Ancestry.com and FamilyTree.
On Wednesday 18 November we were up bright and early with Liam.
I did the 19 M’s in Hampshire as Liam enjoyed his French toast that Eileen made for him.
Tom, Liam, Eileen, and I had a fun time at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham.
Later I went to the shoemaker North Ridge Shoe and Luggage Repair. I filled them in on our diet and they put more holes in two belts for free. It was my third visit there since we started our diet. Then I went to Harris Teeter in the same shopping center for supper items plus. Next to Fresh Market and Whole Food for wheat berries at the latter.
When Liam woke from his nap, we had fun watching the fellows vacuuming up all the leaves along the sides of the road, up one side and down the other.
After supper Eileen and I left Tom and Liam to visit Heather at the hospital. She looked much better!
I had set up a photo stream of our visit to the Museum of Life and Science in iPhoto on my laptop with 95 pictures. At the hospital on my iPhone I was able to add 11 more pictures and invite everyone that I wished to see them.
We left Heather about 8:45.
On Thursday 19 November we didn't get up until 7:30 as Tom got up with Liam.
I dropped Eileen off at the hospital and got four gallons of gas for $2.099. We visited Heather and Tom arrived after dropping Liam off at preschool. We left about 1:50 to get Liam about 3:20.
We picked Liam up at Bright Horizons preschool and I went shopping. I filled up the car at Costco for $1.879! Then I shopped at Walmart and returned plastic cups to Harris Teeter that were too big. I called Coloma Frozen Foods to order more tart cherry concentrate now that I know we'll be here for a while. And I called Dr. Raisig to check on their having ordered atacand for me from Express Scripts (they hadn't and would do it now) and as we're away from home I had them call in a prescription for the atacand to the nearby Rite-Aid for a couple of weeks worth.
I read the talk to Eileen from October general conference entitled "What Lack I Yet?" by Elder Larry R. Lawrence of the Seventy. It is the subject of the priesthood and Relief Society lesson this Sunday in Ellijay.
I began and finished "Strange Jest A Miss Marple Short Story" by Agatha Christie.
On Friday 20 November we were hopeful that Heather would be home from the hospital today.
Tom took Liam to school. Eileen and I picked up my prescription for atacand at Rite-Aid and Eileen got some balloons to welcome Heather home. We shopped at Harris Teeter and not long after we got home Tom arrived with Heather!
I checked all of the family file cards that Colleen and the Farr's have on Family Tree. They have done lots of temple work and have plenty to do yet.
I called the Ellijay post office and spoke to Don who extended the hold on our mail until 2 December. I e-mailed Teri Grace, Terry Dorsey, and President Stanley about our being in Raleigh, so they know we won’t see them this Sunday. They all replied fairly quickly.
Newport has no infobox, so I did 16 of the 17 N's in Hampshire. Eileen did the 14 K's and three of the L's in Devon.
Liam had a lot of fun with Heather's balloons.
On Saturday 21 November we kept Heather company as Tom took Liam to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, aka "dinosaur museum.”
I went to Walmart primarily for supper and one item each at Harris Teeter and Rite-Aid.
I finished reading "The Orphan" by Clarence E. Mulford which I had begun on 7 November. This was a Western by the author of the Hopalong Cassidy novels.
We watched some of Thomas the Tank Engine with Liam.
